Iowa Rush Players to Play in Germany and Holland
In 2013, Rush Soccer and the Adidas International Travel Program established a unique partnership. The main focus of the partnership is to offer a unique International Soccer Experience Program to Rush players.
Iowa Rush’s Megan Gray and Riley Whitaker will be participating in the trip to Germany and Holland with the Girls U15 Rush National Select Team. The International trip includes games against local European clubs, as well as training at FFC Frankfurt and AJAX of Amsterdam. Riley (L) and Megan (R) are pictured below.
The GU15’s were the first Rush National Select Team to implement an identification program by way of an identification camp. The group had a camp in Atlanta at both U13 and U14 allowing coaches to see over 100 players from within this age group from the entire Rush organization across the nation. The U15 Rush National Select Team coached by Russell Finch (CO Rush) has an impressive record of 15-3-2 in all competitions, including tournaments such as Surf Cup and PDT (twice).
Finch said, "Megan and Riley have worked extremely hard over the past 2 years to be given this opportunity to travel Germany and Holland with the Rush National Team. Both the girls demonstrate many of the 11 Rush Core Values and they will grow even more, both on and off the field, due the experiences they are about to encounter, competing against some of the very best players in the world. I believe they can offer a lot to the team based on their ability and look forward to seeing them take on the challenges they will face while in Europe."
