Drop-in Soccer:

You are invited to participate in Adult Pick-Up games throughout the summer.  The format will be informal.  Come ready to play and we will divide teams/fields based 
 
Who: Men and Women High School aged and up are all invited.  Feel free to invite friends and family to come and enjoy in the fun.
 
Time: 7-8:30pm
 
Dates: June 11, 18, 25. July 2, 9,16, 23, 30. August 6. (Every Tuesday Night for Nine weeks)
 
Fee: $40 for all nine sessions or $5 per drop in. 
 
Cash or Checks (made out to Iowa Rush) can be brought to each drop-in.  There will be no on-line registration available and this is not a part of select camp packages.
 
Format: 4v4 or 6v6 plus Goalie to Full Size Pop up goals or 3v3 or 4v4 to small Pugg goals. (Based on Numbers)
 
Location Prairie Ridge Sports Complex- Meet at the concession Stand at start of each play date.
 


College Preparation Outdoor League:

What: College Women and Select U15-18 Girls and Boys League

Who:  Select players, whose ambition is to play in college, from all area clubs (WDM, Rush, JUSC, VSA, CRSA, Heartland, ISA, other Iowa clubs) will play along with current college players from various colleges (Drake, Iowa State, Iowa, UNI, Grandview, other in-state and out-of state collegiate players) and divisions (I, II, III, and NAIA).

Details: 2 or 3 - 8 vs. 8 or 11 vs. 11 games will be played for a total of 75 minutes with 10 minutes for stoppages and water breaks (every Sunday will likely be 11 vs. 11 and T/Th will be 8 vs. 8 – however, this will depend on numbers).

Teams will have 1-3 subs each (Players will be responsible for subbing and all players will have similar playing time – coaches will help players determine team formation, which will change from week to week). 

Academy Summer Camp

U8-U10
 -  Ball control (using multiple surfaces of both feet)
 
 -  Moves (change of direction, frontal)
 
 -  Decisions (what foot to dribble with, what moves to use, when to pass)

Goalkeeping Camp:

Goalkeeping is a specialist position that requires a unique mentality and special set of skills in order to succeed.  To this end, the pre-season goalkeeping camp aims to develop all facets of goalkeeping in a rigorous, enjoyable training environment designed to prepare players for the upcoming season and aspiring players for the demands of the next level.

Areas of Focus for the Goalkeeping Camp:

-  Goalkeeper-Specific Fitness Regimen

-  Basic and Advanced Handling; Collapse and Extension Diving; Coping with High Balls and Crosses

-  Breakaways and Winning the Space Behind the Defense; Reflex Saves; “Back to the Bar” Saves
 
-  Positional and Tactical Awareness; Communication; Distribution; Coping with Psychological Demands

Pro-Elite:

This is Iowa Rush pre-season camp.  It is an intense 5 day camp intended to prepare players to the incoming season.  Iowa Rush staff and guest college coaches will lead the sessions.  The four pillars of the game will be covered:

-          Technical: passing & receiving, finishing, close control, dribbling.   Players will get multiple quality touches on the ball

-          Tactical: individual, small group and team concepts. Possession, defending, combination play, wide play;  vision & decision making

-          Physical: players will improve specific soccer fitness via intense, physically demanding small sided games

-          Psychological: at higher levels the mental side can be the difference.  Players will be challenged into finding and playing in their “zone “                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Kick Into Gear Pre-Season Camp:

Camp for all Recreational ages to attend and a jump start on soccer to be better prepared for the start of season. Individual skill work with the ball and small sided games will be the focus for U5-U8. Individual skill work with the ball, individual defending, and small sided play and decision making will be the focus of U9 and above.

Fall 2013 Camps:

Kicks 4 Kids Series: 

An introductory soccer program for 3-6 year olds. Using a games-approach to learning and development. We will introduce the ball and game of soccer in a fun, dynamic, and challenging way.

Location: Prairie Ridge Soccer Complex
Staff: Rush Select Staff and youth mentors will run the activities
Dates:  Fridays - September 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th; October 4th
Time: **NEW** Might Mights for 3-4 year olds 5:15-6:15pm; Turbo Tots for 5-6 year olds 6:15-7:15pm
Cost: $65.00 includes camp t-shirt!
