On Wednesday, February 3rd in Ankeny, the Iowa Rush Soccer Club announced their Class of 2016 soccer players who have signed their National Letter of Intent to continue their playing careers at the collegiate level. Ten current U18 Iowa Rush players will be taking their talents on to the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA Collegiate Levels. Executive Director, Paul Fabry, stated, "Our annual signing event is one we look forward to as it provides the players, staff, and parents the opportunity to celebrate all the dedication and time that these young men and women have put into achieving this moment. The staff and I are all extremely proud of each and everyone of these players. We look forward to seeing their accomplishments on and off the field as they continue to follow their dreams of playing at the next level."
Senior Director of Select Girls and Head Coach of the U18 Girls Team, Daryl Brazeau, described the players as "a great class of players who have developed through the Rush Program. We are proud of the hard work, dedication, and continued commitment that each player has placed in their desire to continue their soccer careers in college." Brazeau continued, "It will be great to follow these players in their careers, as we know they will make immediate impacts at the college level." There are eight female players who have signed with various universities and colleges this year, and each is listed below to read further about their commitments.
Greg Hennelly, Director of Coaching and Head Coach of the U18 Boys Team, went on to explain "It is great to continue to see more and more Iowa Rush players continuing their playing careers at each level of the collegiate game. Our goal is to instill a passion and love for the game in each and every player that comes through the Iowa Rush Soccer Club, while helping to develop and guide them to play at the highest level possible. Seeing the number of players who continue to come through the Rush program and continue their careers into college is a great testimonial to the developmental approach we are able to provide at the Iowa Rush for our players. We are looking forward to continuing to help place players at the next level, but a lot of the credit goes to the players tremendous work ethic, commitment to themselves and their teammates, as well as following the dreams they have had since walking onto the field as a youngster. We are extremely proud of these players and wish them all the best!" There are two male players who have signed, and they are listed below.
