Iowa Rush is pleased to announce that we have added three coaches to our Select Program staff: Bill Koeppen, Tony Minatta, and Andrea Swanson. Bill is the former Boy’s DOC of VSA in Waukee and Tony is the current assistant coach for the women’s program at Iowa State. A USSF ‘B’ licensed coach, Bill has coached at the collegiate, youth, and semi-professional level in Nebraska, Iowa, and Virginia, including stints with Creighton and Drake as well as at clubs in Charlottesville, Virginia, Omaha, Nebraska, and in the Des Moines area. We are excited to add someone with such a high level of experience at this time of the year. Bill will mainly work with the U11 and U12 boys for the spring season and be involved with our Wednesday programming.
Tony recently left his Assistant Director of Coaching duties at Arsenal Soccer Club in Fort Collins, Colorado to take an assistant women’s job at ISU. He has worked with many different age groups on both the boys’ and girls’ sides at Arsenal, sending numerous players off to colleges across the U.S. and winning four Colorado State Cup titles. A USSF ‘A’ licensed coach, Tony will be working on Wednesdays with our programming as well as helping out different teams throughout the week this spring.
Rounding out new, additional staff members for the spring is Andrea Swanson, currently a goalkeeper on the ISU team where she is a sophomore. Andrea is from West Des Moines where she won two state championships at Valley and was team MVP in 2010 and 2011. She will be working with goalkeepers on Monday nights from 5-7.
Be sure to give them a warm welcome when you see them at the fields!
