Additional Tryout Date announced: Based on the potential for weather or poor field conditions, Iowa Rush will host an additional tryout on Thursday June 13. U11-U13 Boys and Girls 5-6:30pm, U14 Boys and Girls 7:30-9pm.

Additional HS GIRLS tryout date announced: Due to the High School State Tournament, Iowa Rush will host an additional tryout for the HS girls age groups on Monday June 10th from 6-730pm.

Tryouts:

In June of each year, Iowa Rush conducts tryouts for their Select teams (boys and girls) in the U11-18 age groups. Players need not make both tryouts to be selected, but are encouraged to attend as many for their age group as they can make. Players must participate in one tryout and register to be eligible for selection. However, players are encouraged to attend all tryout dates in their age group. Post-tryout evaluations may be provided upon request.

Tryout Format:

Upon arrival at age-appropriate tryout, players will check-in at field site. Each player will be provided with a numbered club t-shirt that specifically identifies each player.
Players will participate in game-like environments in front of numerous professional coaches to evaluate players in realistic settings. Tryout games may take place in 3v3, 5v5, 8v8 or 11v11 settings depending on age group allowing lots of touches on the ball for the players and lots of opportunities to be observed in game related activities. Goalkeepers will be included.

Player Selection and Playing Up:

Players will be placed on teams based on what is developmentally appropriate for the age group and individual players. Players must try out in their own age group; coaches will determine which players need to be moved up. Players are selected based on a number of different factors. The main factors for consideration are the player's age, ability, and commitment level. U9 going to U10 Academy players: may try out for U11, but only a few players may be selected per Iowa Soccer Association rules.

2013 Notification Dates:

Invites from tryouts for U11 through U13 age divisions may be issued on or after 8:00 AM of June 17th.
Invites from tryouts for U14 and above age divisions may be issued on or after 8:00 AM of June 27^th.

Bid Day:

Players will not be informed prior to bid day whether they make a team within the club per IPSL Tryout Regulations. Players will be contacted by email to be informed of their roster placement. The individual players will then have 24 hours to respond to confirm they accept/decline their team placement. If a player/family knows they will be out of town at the time of placement offers, they must provide an alternate phone number or email address where they can be reached.

To reserve their roster spot, players must provide a non-refundable deposit of $100 within one week or their spot may be given to another interested player. Detailed acceptance instructions will be sent as a part of the bid day process.
