At the Iowa Rush there is a great deal to be proud of and so much to look forward to.  We continue to refine who we are daily and strive to expand opportunities for ALL players to maximize their potential on the field and off. Iowa Rush is excited to be key figures in your child’s life.  Thank you for letting us be a part of the journey!


Mission Statement: Iowa Rush Soccer Club is committed to providing an unrivaled soccer experience for players of all abilities and age levels.   We accept the responsibility of teaching life lessons to our athletes to further their growth inside the game and out, through core-values, sportsmanship and community outreach. We will afford all players the opportunity to maximize their potential, realize their dreams and cultivate a passion for the game.  Through quality coaching, sound leadership and the connection with the world-wide Rush organization, Iowa Rush Soccer Club will work to be the destination club of choice in the state of Iowa.


2017 Iowa Rush Highlights – Iowa Rush NORTH

  • Established Iowa Rush NORTH as our second Iowa Rush Club. Iowa Rush NORTH is based in Waverly, IA and has created a professionally run club utilizing the Rush way and the Iowa Rush philosophy. 
  • A great first season of initiating a culture for player development in our NORTH branch, while continuing to expand our reach across the state and growing the Rush brand in Iowa.
  • Established community and social media presence immediately

2017 Iowa Rush Highlights – Iowa Rush Soccer Club

  • Connected to a professional team as a part of Rush Nation. Welcome Penn FC this 2018! Follow @PennFCOfficial
  • Overall Iowa Rush “Central” numbers: Spring, 1085 + Fall, 1039 = 2,124 players across all programs (Kicks4Kids, Recreation, Academy, and Select)
  • Connected to Iowa Rush Alumni
    • Established alumni newsletter and social media groups to alum
    • Held first annual Iowa Rush Alumni Game and social. Alum across both genders and multiple classes were in attendance, with an excitement for the chance to gather again next year.
  • Inducting inaugural class into the Iowa Rush Hall of Fame this January, with full intention to move forward on an annual nomination process and induction ceremony
  • Kicks4Kids program introducing soccer to 3-6 year olds through fun activities accessed by 292 players from across the metro
  • Continued to expand the player mentorship program by older players assigned to work with Kicks4Kids and younger teams throughout season.
  • Expanded coaching within 9U/10U Academy program to include more access to our full time professional coaches and program Directors of Coaching.
  • Expanded training opportunities with Recreational Directors and assistants within 7-8U program.
  • Expanded Iowa RushEDGE with new instructional videos, new curriculum and player video analysis.
  • Expanded winter training by connecting with Sports Iowa to have a fully turfed facility for player training two nights a week throughout winter.
  • Iowa Rush Spring Champions Cup – Increased tournament participation to a record setting123 teams.
  • Rush Labor Day Cup – Increased number of teams attended to record setting 53 teams.
  • RushFest (Colorado Springs, CO) – 40 players (12U boys and girls) attended and played at this one week, national event this past summer
  • Rush International Tour (Germany, Austria and Czech Republic) – 28 players (14U Girls and 17U Boys) played and traveled during spring of 2017, including guest players and a coach from Wisconsin West Rush.
  • College commitments - 9 Rush and Nero Select players will sign their National Letter of Intent at this coming February’s Iowa Rush hosted signing event.
  • Player soccer successes outside the Rush uniform: 41 ODP players, 27 Identified Rush National Select Players

    • State Cup Champions earned by…
      • 2003 (15U) Girls Rush - back-to-back in same calendar year, advancing to Regionals this June
      • 2000 (18U) Girls Rush - back-to-back and advancing to Regionals this June
      • 1999 (19U) Girls Rush - 6 time State Champs most by any one team in Iowa Rush history and advancing to Regionals this June
    • President Cup State Champions earned by…
      • 2004 (13U) Girls Rush - finished as Regional semi-finalists at June 2017 event
      • 2000 (18U) Boys Rush - advancing to 2018 Regional event this June   
  • Director of Coaching hires:
    • Kirk Artist - DOC-Select Senior Boys
    • Nate Castillo - Director of Operations and Director of GK
    • Haris Kahrimanovic - Assistant DOC Recreation
  • Coaching success from 2017:
    • Kirk Artist – Iowa President Cup Champion;
    • Daryl Brazeau – Iowa State Cup Champion and MRL Premier 1 Division Champion;
    • Nate Castillo - Rush Select Coach, Iowa State Cup Champion, and MRL Divisional Champion;
    • Paul Fabry - USSF National Coaching Instructor, Iowa ODP State Staff, and Iowa State Cup Champion;
    • Nuno Ferriera – Iowa ODP State Team Head Coach. 
    • Additional staff success prior to club departure: Greg Hennelly who moved on to Chicago based US Development Academy club July 2017 - Rush Select Coaching Staff and Des Moines Menace PDL Assistant Coach; Candice Fabry who moved on to Iowa Soccer Association April 2017 – Iowa President Cup Champions and Iowa ODP State Staff
