Iowa Rush Soccer Club

How are teams formed?

The Iowa Rush Soccer Club is a member organization of the Iowa Soccer Association (ISA).  As a member, we agree to follow ISA guidelines regarding team formation for Level 3 (Recreation).  According to ISA guidelines, when forming recreational teams, “the team formation process will be random in nature”.

How old does my child have to be to participate in the Iowa Rush Soccer Club?

Players must fall into the birth year of the youngest age group. For the 2016-2017 season, the 5U age group is for all players born in 2012 (Jan 1, 2012-Dec 31, 2012).

Will my child be on the same team again?

This is dependent upon the age group your child is participating in this season. Please see the age group program descriptions for more information on your child’s age group team formation.

Can I request a new team?

A parent/guardian may request that his/her child be removed from the team the child was on the previous season.  The child will be randomly placed on a different team as long as roster size permits.

Do we play other towns?

All 5-6U and 7-8U league games will be played in Ankeny against other Iowa Rush teams. 9U and above teams will be included in the Iowa Level 3 Central League and play up to half of their league games out of town.

What does the “U” in 6U stand for?

The “U” stands for “under” so if your child plays in the 6U age division he/she is in the Under 6 division.

Does everybody wear the same uniform?

All players are required to wear an approved Iowa Rush Soccer Club uniform, shin-guards, and cleats.  Uniform information can be found at under each program's information tab.

Can my child wear his baseball cleats for soccer?

Baseball cleats are NOT allowed.  By design, baseball cleats are too sharp for soccer.   Football cleats are acceptable as long as the cleat is round and not straight like a baseball cleat.

What size soccer ball does my child need?

5-8U players use a size 3 ball.  9-12U players used a size 4 ball. 13U and above players use a Size 5 ball.

My child turned a year older, why aren’t they changing age divisions?

The soccer year runs from August 1 to July 31.  Players are placed on teams according to their age on August 1st and are considered to be that age for the entire year (both the fall and spring seasons).

When will I hear from my coach?

Coaches receive roster information about 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the season.  As soon as coaches receive their rosters they begin contacting their players.

Are dogs allowed at the soccer complex?

Dogs are allowed only on the trail system at Prairie Ridge and must be on a leash at all times and be accompanied by their owner.  No dogs are allowed on playing surfaces or in the spectator viewing areas.  Anyone with their dog in a playing area or spectator area will be asked to leave.

Is there a lost and found?

Lost and Found is designed for Iowa Rush Soccer Club Members to notify each other of any lost or found items. Please make sure to check the concession stand for any lost items.

Please send an email with the subject line LOST and FOUND to [email protected] with information about the lost or found item.
