Iowa Rush 2020-2021 Invitation to Play

Iowa Rush Parent Meeting Powerpoint

Given the current Return-To Play schedule set by Iowa Soccer for its member clubs, traditional tryouts for 11U - 19U players (2002 – 2010 birth years) are being replaced with a process referred to as “Team Selection” for this year. Under this process, there are no conditions or timelines under which tryouts or anything resembling a tryout will be allowed for the Fall 2020 season.

Team Selection Process:

Step 1: Players register to confirm their interest to play on an Iowa Rush Select Team for the 2020-2021 soccer year, and submit a $25 registration fee. The window to register will be open through June 12th. Players registered on an Iowa Rush Youth Select Program (11U-15U) for Spring 2020 will receive a code to have the registration fee waived.

Step 2: Between June 13th through June 16th, clubs will be able to make selection and/or placement decisions
and organize their communications. During this period, clubs are not allowed to imply or offer an invitation to play
to any player.

Step 3: On June 17th, clubs may communicate decisions/invitations with a player. This will initially involve the club sending an email that morning no earlier than 8:00am. Players indicate their acceptance of the invite to play by responding to the email and then completing the confirmation process which involves a deposit fee that is applied to 2020-2021 Select Program fees. This “Invite to Play Day” replaces the traditional “Bid Day”.

Why Iowa Rush?

During this brief period in June 2020, many Central Iowa families are considering submitting the new Intent to Play Registration to express their intent to join a competitive soccer team for the 2020-2021 season. We know, there are many reasons parents and players choose to join a competitive youth soccer program. From either experiencing success and enjoyment in the local rec soccer program to just being one of those soccer families with parents who enjoyed the sport in their youth, we understand the draw to the soccer world. But in Central Iowa, there are several competitive youth soccer organizations to choose from so what makes Iowa Rush and the Rush Soccer program so special? While you'll need to do your own research on all competitive youth soccer programs in the area, here are the top 5 reasons our Iowa Rush families chose the Rush Soccer family:

Iowa Rush prides itself in attracting and continuing to develop dynamic, educated, and caring youth soccer coaches. Iowa Rush coaches have played at a higher level and are involved in promoting soccer within our community at every age - from Kicks 4 Kids to high school and college soccer coaching. When not helping develop Iowa Rush players, you can find our coaches developing soccer programs at both high schools in Ankeny. Needless to say, they care deeply about the development of the game!

3. Creating Memories that last a lifetime

Our player create memories during the regular season in team trainings, games, tournaments or in the off season with team bonding activities, winter training, and playing opportunities or during special events provided to members such as Rush Fest, International Trip, or college showcase.  These memories have been flooding back from Alumni during the alumni game and social or anything our players and parents get together.

4. Unique player pathways arranged to develop to higher level soccer.

Unique to the Rush Soccer program are our player pathways. Through Rush Soccer, Iowa Rush players have guest playing opportunities with state cup teams, ECNL teams, and other Rush soccer team across the nation. 5. Providing a professionalize environment

The club provides a professional environment by having an office location within Ankeny where all coaches and staff assemble to create a philosophy and methodology that get put back on the field during the evenings.  The fields are professionally maintained for all games and trainings for all select players within the club.  Lastly, the administrative staff has extension experience and knowledge of the youth soccer landscape to position the club to be a leader in the industry for years to come.
