About 


A fun, educational soccer program for our young players. Kids will learn the basics while falling head over cleats in love with the game!



5U-6U is open to any boy or girl born between Aug. 1, 2020 - July 31, 2022


  • Apex Staff will lead the training with the help of parent volunteers.
  • Training with focus on ball control and directional play keeping all players participating and engaged.
  • As the season progress more time will be given to 3v3 small-sided games.
  • Regular Practice Nights for Fall 2026 TBD


You will need to upload a birth certificate & headshot for your player.


You will be redirected to Apex Rush’s registration system through Sprocket Sports. 


You will need to create an account with your email and a password within Sprocket Sports app and enter your child’s name and birthdate. Then you will see the program options.

Pricing Packages

Fall 2026 fee is $100.

Equipment Needed

  • Size 3 Soccer Ball
  • Shinguards (Mandatory for all practices and games)
  • Soccer socks - long enough to cover the shinguards
  • Athletic shorts/pants
  • Water bottle
  • Cleats (recommended, but athletic shoes are acceptable)

Training Location

All 5U-6U Mighty Strikers sessions will take place indoors at Sportsplex Norwalk.

How we play - how we perform


Continues to emphasize individual player development with an increasing focus on team performance.

Focus Areas:


  • Fundamental Motor Skills: Developing agility, balance, coordination, and speed through fun activities and games.


  • Soccer Skills and Concepts:
  • Ball Control: learning to move and dribble the ball with all parts of both feet, passing to teammates and shooting.
  • Spatial Awareness: Understanding where they are on the field and recognizing teammates, opponents and space.
  • Directional Play: Moving the ball toward the goal with the help of their teammates and defending their goal.


  • Teamwork & Sportsmanship: Learning to share, take turns, encourage teammates, and respect coaches and opponents.


  • Following Instructions: Practicing listening skills and following directions.


  • Love for the Game: Instilling a lifelong love for soccer!

Coaching

Parent volunteers will be needed and asked to assist with training sessions led by Apex staff.


Apex will provide resources and support to ensure a positive experience. Emphasis will be paced on encouragement and positive reinforcement.
