Winter Academy provides the opportunity for players to take part in a weekly training session which creates a bridge between seasons for Academy players. Modeled after Academy Program sessions taking place in the fall and spring, Winter Academy sessions reinforce and build upon themes in preparation for the upcoming season.

• Sessions continue developing a player’s ability to maneuver the ball and make quality decisions when in possession.
• All Winter Academy sessions are led by Academy Director, Jeff Adamiak, with training groups directed by members of the Iowa Rush Coaching Staff.
• Winter Academy sessions are intended for players previously registered in the Fall 2025 Academy Program, or those players likely to register for the Spring 2026 Academy Program.

Rush Edge sessions prioritize the technical development phase during the entire hour thereby providing more repetition and detail in the technical themes which we prioritize as part of our Iowa Rush training curriculum.

• Creates a consistent training option for players during “off-season” portions of the club calendar.
• Open to all players but geared towards players in the Iowa Rush 8U Rush Soccer, 9U-10U Academy, 11U-12U Youth Select, and 13U-14U Select Programs.
• Provides an environment which brings about more detailed technical instruction.
• Helps players develop their own self-training regimens.
• Sessions during the winter will focus on developing a player’s ability to: 1) Create space from defenders when dribbling, 2) Confidently possess the ball and utilize the dribble when under pressure, and 3) Win more 1v1 duels during games.
• All Rush Edge sessions are led by Jeff Adamiak and Will Nurre with training groups directed by Jeff, Will, and other members of the club’s Technical Staff.
