Andrew began his soccer journey with Iowa Rush at age 4, starting in the club’s introductory program. He advanced through 5U-6U, Academy, and Select Soccer, playing competitively through U17. In 2022, he reached the highest level of the Iowa Rush pathway by joining VSA Rush ECNL.

Ella’s soccer journey is a story of dedication, talent, and growth within the Iowa Rush and VSA Rush communities. She began with Iowa Rush North in 2016, developing her skills and helping her team win the 2019 State Cup. In 2020, she transitioned to Iowa Rush Central and later played for both Iowa Rush and VSA as a guest player.
Malachi has a remarkable ability to truly notice what's happening around him. He listens intently—talking with him makes you feel genuinely heard, which is refreshing for a 10-year-old boy! Alongside this, he shows a remarkable sensitivity towards others. Whether interacting with coaches, teammates, or his little brothers, Malachi's caring and selfless nature shines through. His teammates and coaches hold him in high esteem, and it’s clear he loves playing the game! Keep up the fantastic work, Malachi!

Dara is a humble player and teammate. She is very competitive and skilled in her defensive position and is always focused on improving. She has an incredible work ethic and leads her teammates by example. No matter the situation as a defender if something goes wrong she tells her teammates/coaches what she could have done better. You will never see or hear her blame others for a mistake. Off the field she is a fun loving and kind hearted individual who likes to be around her friends.

This season, Arnel has truly stepped up as a leader, consistently embodying the value of accountability from the very start of the fall season. His proactive approach begins with initiating warmups and setting the tone for practice, ensuring everyone is focused and engaged. When he notices a drop in effort or concentration, he doesn’t hesitate to speak up, reminding his teammates of the standards they need to uphold. By addressing issues directly and encouraging a strong work ethic, Arnel has fostered a culture of responsibility within the team, demonstrating that he cares not only about his own performance but also about the collective success of the group.

For our players to have fun while learning to play the game, it’s important that they feel safe. Brecken has embodied the Rush core value of safety through his service as a referee this year. Managing upwards of 25 games this last spring, Brecken has contributed to a positive playing environment for players of all ages. We appreciate his and our other referees’ efforts in giving back to the soccer community.

He conducts himself on the field in a way which demonstrates an appreciation of three things we are trying to develop within the Academy Program: Composure - We are thoughtful and intentional with the ball. Cooperation - We play together. We all attack and we all defend. Competitiveness - We keep trying. We do not give up.

Madison is attentive and always ready to respond with answers that showcase a deeper understanding of the Rush curriculum. She  has a keen capacity to implement her learning experiences into her play and is supportive of her teammates as they problem solve together.

The weather really turned tonight, but we still had a fantastic time at Kicks 4 Kids for the 3 and 4-year-olds, then the 5 and 6-year-olds. Thank you to our wonderful volunteer coaches for the night from the Cedar Falls Women's Soccer team along with Coach James, Coach Jake, and Coach Jami. And a huge thank you to the families that braved the cold, wind, and rain to get some great soccer in. We will see you all next week! @rushsoccer @iowarush_central
We had our first Kicks 4 Kids of the season Friday night and what a great night for soccer!
