Iowa Rush Central | Youth Soccer in Ankeny

Apex Soccer Academy and Iowa Rush Soccer Club have announced a new partnership, effective March 1, 2026, designed to enhance long-term player development while maintaining stability for players, families, teams, staff, and the local community.

Both clubs share a strong commitment to player-centered development, community values, and sustainable club growth. This partnership ensures continuity for Apex families while creating new opportunities through alignment with the broader Iowa Rush and VSA Rush organizations.

During the Spring 2026 season, all Apex teams will continue to operate as usual. Coaches, team structures, league participation, and day-to-day operations will remain unchanged. A gradual integration with Iowa Rush will begin with the 2026–27 seasonal year, including tryouts and club branding updates. At that time, the club name will transition to Apex Rush.

Apex Soccer Academy is a Central Iowa youth soccer club focused on player development and competitive soccer.

The Apex Soccer Academy was created to give players in Warren County and nearby areas an alternative for competitive soccer. Apex Soccer Academy players are from a variety of communities in the Greater Des Moines Area. Apex Soccer Academy offers a higher level of play focusing on player development through professional coaching. Apex Soccer Academy offers a 9U-10U Academy program with teams competing in Iowa Soccer's Academy League and select teams 11U-19U competing in the Iowa Soccer League.

The mission of Apex Soccer Academy is to provide an ideal program to foster player development for youth athletes. We strive to maintain an environment that focuses on the physical, mental and emotional development of every player with goal of cultivating a lifelong passion for the game.

Since 2009, Iowa Rush has intentionally grown our staff and operations to support the increasing number of players in our sport. Over the past 17 years, more than 15,000 players have experienced Iowa Rush programming and developed a love for the game. We have grown to include locations in Waverly, Pella, and work in partnership with VSA in the Waukee community and Apex in the Warren County area. We are proud to support our communities by participating in local events such as elementary school fun nights, parades, and trunk-or-treats. Many of our club coaches also serve on local high school soccer staffs, helping raise the soccer standard and further the game for players throughout our communities. Our investment in players goes beyond the field. We believe in mentoring the next generation of coaches, creating pathways for Iowa Rush alumni to begin their coaching careers. Over the last 10 years, we’ve hired over 25 Iowa Rush alumni as coaches, including 11 on our current staff. These individuals have lived our club culture and now bring those experiences back to our current players. Alongside our alumni, our staff includes former college coaches, coaches with international backgrounds, and club coaches who bring a wide range of perspectives and expertise.
